Dr. Nakia Lacquers Buchanan
No stranger to ministry, this teacher, leader, counselor, educator, and businesswoman is full of vision and clear in her purpose.
To know Dr. Nakia Buchanan, is to understand that she has been consecrated for such a time as this. She is one who was saved at the age of twelve at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the capable leadership of Reverend Willie Ailsworth. Her love for God as well as an appreciation of ancestral sacrifices blossomed through her paternal grandmother, Cleopatra Harris, through life lessons linked through Gray's Creek Baptist Church. She was raised to be a prayerful and God fearing woman under her mother, Missionary Joselyn Ann Boatwright. Her father, John Lee Buchanan modeled quiet strength through militarism in the U.S. Navy and and vocational trades in Tennessee, Georgia, California, and Florida.
It was during the trials of adolecence that a deeper relationship with Christ was sought. At the 1990 Dr. Martin Luther King Celebration at Temple of Deliverace COGIC in Memphis, she was sanctified during the altar call. Three months later during Bishop Patterson's Pentecost Revival was baptized with the Holy Ghost. At the age of 17, Evangelist Buchanan acknowledged her call as a missionary. This inital call was under the women's department leadership of Mother Annie Ruth Echols. Since her humble beginnings in the ministry, she has continued serving God's people in the following capacities: as a church planter of Strong Tower Faith Ministry and Ntreh Memorial, radio evangelism of 1030AM, armour bearer to the late Supervisor of Montana, Mother Lucy Flagg Ntreh, and countless other leadership roles.
Dr. Buchanan isthe mother of a Godly nation of sons and daughters who are maturing to establish their footprints of legacy within the Earth. She is the former district missionary of the Roberson, Garner, Coffey district of Southern California Second Jurisdiction and Interim Supervisor of Northeast Ohio. Her most loved hobby is creating nonfictional children's literature for sharing her love of family history. There are three children's reading selections to her credit: Miss Virginia Harris, Permelia Goes to St. Paul Normal, and Matt Lane's Day at the Polls.
Dr. Buchanan is an active member of the Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War, the Women's Relief Corps, and the historical preservation of the Neil's Creek Antislavery Society.
Dr. Buchanan's committment to Excellence:
I dedicate myself to a life of holiness and righteousness, to laying the living foundations
upon which successor generations must continue to build their lives.
I dedicate myself to the advancement of learning, for I know that without it our successors
will lack both the vision and the power to build and live well.
I dedicate myself to the cultivation of excellence, for I know that humanity cannot flourish
without integrity and compassion.
I commit myself to the advancement of my own learning and to the cultivation of my own character, for I know that I must bear witness in my own life to the ideals that I have dedicated myself to promote in others.
